Check your permisions are correct on your user files. Navigate to your main hard drive (usually Macintosh HD) and select your /Users folder. Press “Cmd+I” to bring up the Get Info window. Expand the “Sharing and Permissions” arrow.
After updating to El Capitan on MacPro Mid 2012 (8G 750G drive), Mail keeps asking me for the password to some of my accounts. I've checked the password, starting with the POP provider. Passwords are correct at that end. Re-entering them does no good in Mail, or in the 'Internet Accounts' system panel.
In previous support docs, it was recommended to open Keychain Access and delete the pop entries related to the failed mail accounts. Did this. Did not help.
Repairing Keychain Access showed no repair necessary.
